RSDP-2 brings infrastructure, local capacity and project support together. Four main components underpin its work.
1. Community subprojects
Preparation and implementation support helps communities turn their priorities into subprojects, supported by ward development, start-up and SWIFT grant arrangements.
2. Community and local government capacity
Training supports DPLGA, subnational teams, wards, women and youth. The aim is to build the knowledge and practical skills needed to participate in planning and delivery.
3. Project management, monitoring and learning
National, provincial and local project teams coordinate implementation. Work planning, reporting, monitoring, procurement and safeguards support the delivery process.
4. Contingent disaster response
The project includes a component for contingent disaster response, with disaster and climate awareness and support at ward level.
The eight areas below describe the kinds of services and participation that this approach supports. Examples of physical infrastructure are drawn from earlier RSDP work.
