The experience behind Phase 2
Earlier RSDP work supported communities in Central, Western, Simbu, West Sepik and East New Britain. The programme’s earlier phases supported a range of completed infrastructure and livelihood activities.
Water and sanitation
Examples include rainwater catchments, gravity-fed water systems, borewells with solar pumps, rehabilitated water supplies and a public toilet.
Education and health
Education examples include classrooms, libraries, a computer lab and teachers’ houses. Health examples include community aid posts and community health-worker housing.
Shared infrastructure and livelihoods
Multipurpose halls, resource centres, markets, safe houses, solar household lighting and a footbridge illustrate the variety of local needs. Earlier livelihood activities also included agriculture, poultry, fish farming and water transport.
What Phase 2 plans to reach
The planned Phase 2 footprint is 12 provinces, 24 districts and 48 local-level governments, with an intended reach of over 1.4 million people. These are planning figures, not a claim of completed delivery or people already reached.
Phase 2 project profiles and verified progress updates will be published as they become available.
